Rituals at Triyuginarayan Temple
These time-honored rituals reflect the original divine wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, witnessed by the gods.
Agni Sakshi Vivaah
The couple performs the sacred wedding ceremony in front of the eternal flame (Akhand Dhuni), believed to be burning since the divine marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Sacred Kund Pujan
Devotees offer prayers at the four holy water tanks β Brahma Kund, Vishnu Kund, Rudra Kund, and Saraswati Kund β each associated with a divine entity and part of the original Shiv-Parvati wedding.
Mandap Ceremony
Marriage takes place in the ancient stone mandap believed to be used in the celestial wedding. Mantras and Vedic chants are recited by the temple priests.
Saptapadi (Seven Steps)
As per Vedic tradition, the couple takes seven steps around the sacred fire within the temple premises, symbolizing vows of commitment.
Parikrama of the Eternal Flame
The bride and groom walk around the eternal flame (symbol of Lord Vishnuβs witness) just as Lord Shiva and Parvati did, making the union highly sacred.
Aashirwad by Priests
After the wedding, the temple priests bless the newlyweds and provide a sacred wedding certificate recognized by the temple.
